Artist's Statement

I have always enjoyed drawing, painting, and expressing myself in creative ways. More recently, I have decided to pursue art full time. In 7th grade I switched schools to ASFL after 6 years of attending AAA. This was in an effort to help me see where I would want to go in life and my time at ASFL did just that. It gave me more perspective. Ironically, it strengthened my love for art and its possibilities as a career. Now in 8th grade, I have returned to AAA as a pathway for the arts.

I am always determined to reach my goals, whether that be academic or creative. My desire is to learn different mediums and styles so that I can grow as an artist.

Oftentimes, I use the mediums of pencil, pen and ink, and watercolors, but I enjoy experimenting with new materials and the techniques that I use. For me, art is an entertaining activity, but it is also a rewarding way for me to express myself and to communicate with others. You can find me working on art at home, or occasionally drawing in coffee shops. I am inspired by both artists and writers including Stan Sakai, Dan Mora, Tim Sale, Minh Le, Mark Waid, and Michael Crichton.
